From now on most of the david trubridge lighting range will be constructed from bamboo rather than hoop pine. This is due to the closure of the hoop pine factory in Brisbane in March 2008. There were no other options left as they were the only producers of 1.5mm thick hoop pine interior AA grade in the world!
After searching for months to find another 1.5mm AA interior plywood at an acceptable price, they found bamboo.
The natural bamboo plywood is similar in colour to the hoop pine, and is also available in a caramel colour - see image.
